Day 3 Little Rock to Memphis

Today travel to the capital of Arkansas for a panoramic Little Rock City Tour featuring sites such as the Arkansas State Capital Bldg, Central High School, and the river market district.  Later travel to Memphis and check into your hotel.  Memphis features a distinct southern flavor and a history embodied in the melancholy blues. Tonight visit action packed Beale Street filled with retail shops, restaurants, and music clubs. Enjoy a southern BBQ during your Beale Street Dinner with your fellow travelers.  After dinner maybe take in some of the incredible music at one of the Blues or other music clubs.

They asked the hotel to open breakfast earlier and they did, we got there at 6:30, no line, no wait. Much better than at least a100 person line yesterday, but we saw the huge line when we were leaving. We have a 3 hour drive today and the weather guy says with the wind chill it is single digits outside.

We rode for about 2 hours and stopped at a Walmart to pee. Others bought wine and snacks for a happy hour. We bought some cookies to share and apples and gold fish crackers. The Winter countryside is not spectacular but I bet it's beautiful when it's green.

We stopped at a food court in Little Rock for lunch. Then we walk to the closing Presidential library. There is no City tour as promised.

this is the Arkansas capitol
From here it was on to Memphis and dinner at the Blues City Cafe on Beale Street. We did not stay to go clubbing. The driver said it is dangerous but we did walk the block that was barricaded off.  There were police cars on both ends.
The service was so so because we overwhelmed them, but the food was excellent.
The hotel tonight is much nicer. Adequate soap, shampoo and lotion. Only issue we had was they didn't deliver Paul's bag. Then they had to do a room by room search to figure out who got delivered an extra bag and didn't call the leader to tell them. It was actually found across the hall from us. The old lady that had it didn't bother to call Even though the tour leader said if you have a bag in your room that's not yours to call her. I find it amazing that people can't follow directions and on the bus the ladies were cackling all day long. It was so noisy. We are not going to take another bus trip if we can help it.
  Tonight we watched elf.
